70's Songs That Changed The Music Scene

Floppy disk, LCD, VCR or videocassette, liposuction, Cell phones, Disco and Walkman were all invented in the 1970’s and along with these inventions the 70’s was also the era when some of the most awesome songs were composed. The 70’s re-shaped the music world and thank god it did. I personally consider the 70’s as the golden era for music. Without the 70’s, music won’t be the same. The 70’s bands made such a huge impact to the music scene, these bands were reflected in the form of the 80’s glam rock, thrash metal, the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Progressive Bands, Death Metal, Black Metal, Grunge and Alternative Rock. Unfortunately the descendant of the later bands did not turn out to be that great after all who in the world consider metal core, Emo Metal and nu metal as part of the Heavy Metal Family.

If it wasn’t for the 70’s we all would have been grooving to the hordes of studio produced pop artists and bands. Trust me 99.9% of these pop artists can’t sing, but they do know how to dance.

Here is a list of songs that I personally consider as the 70’s songs that change the music scene. In fact these songs are also considered as some of the best songs ever.

  • Stairway To Heaven - Led Zeppelin
  • Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
  • Dream On - Aerosmith
  • Sultans of Swing - Dire Straits
  • Smoke On the Water - Deep Purple
  • Symptom of the Universe - Black Sabbath
  • Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd
  • Baba O'Riley - The Who

BTW, I can’t stop listening to Dire Straits’ So Far Away. Right now, no other song means so much as this song. It’s been a long time since I was with my girl and seriously am tired of making out on the telephone.
