A Mini-Vacation in Rishikesh and Haridwar - part 1

After almost a year I took a mini-vacation last weekend and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Rishikesh and Haridwar is just five hours train ride from Delhi but I never bothered to visit because these places are more of a pilgrim destination for Hindus. But I was wrong. Rishikesh has so much to offer besides religion. It’s such a trippy place!

Just chilling!

Sunset View of River Ganga with Ram jhula in the Background. It was so tripy!

The Horn, Rishikesk Style. Spreading the Gospel of Metal even in the most remote areas. OK, I bribed them with that bottle of Coke!

Quick Rishikesh Travel Guide:
  • Don't forget your Sun screen.
  • If you wanna booze, you have to bring it yourself.
  • Spending two hours looking your hotel is not that enjoyable. Noting down the location of your hotel in a piece of paper will greatly reduce the hassle.
  • Teasing the monkeys with food, not a good idea.
  • If you are coming by train and if you are planning to catch a nab in the train, avoid those seats where there are more than two old women. They will sing and they will not stop until they reach Haridwar.
